Internet will face radical changes as early as next year. The Internet’s ruling body- The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICAAN) today agreed to open up the strict rules for the Top Level Domains (TLD). For example companies may now own their own company name’s TLD instead of the regular .com etc. Eg. Microsoft.microsoft. However in my opinion, it’s hard to remember & longer to type.
ICAAN is also considering to incorporate non-roman names in the addresses of the websites. The new scripts that we may have are- Hindi, Cyrillic, Mandarin & Arabic.
