Regarding Encryption, I would like to add that there is a mode in modern gateways called "WPA-mixed" Using this mode will have compatability with PCs/Laptops that have only WPA or WPA2 modes.

Hello Florida Mom,

This article itself explains what basic steps you need to follow in order to secure your home network.

If you want to know the procedure for editing the security settings for a particular model, then let me know the manufacturer and model number of the router. I'll try to find the guide for you.

This is perhaps the most needed tut after the Kenneth Haywood incident. Gald you took some efforts. Btw, there is a thread at Digit forum that teaches how to setup a wireless network at home. have you posted a link to this post in that thread?

There is one services tab too in my router, i just switch off the telnet one. It can be exploited to hack in.
